Death Ride ~ Lake Tahoe

Our latest adventure was to Lake Tahoe for Jer to participate in the Death Ride. As you can see from the logo above it was 5 Mountain Passes, 129 miles and 15,000 vertical feet of climbing. It took Jer a little of 12 hours to complete but HE DID IT!! We are so proud of him. It was quite the accomplishment and a really tough ride.

Tahoe was pretty smokey due to the fires in CA but we had a really great time. Kaitlyn still had to wear a dress 100% of the time even though we were camping...

Indian Creek Reservoir:

Abby is walking about 95% of the time now!!

We got out to do some BEAUTIFUL hikes:

And here is a shot of Jer finishing his big day:

All 5 passes and all 5 stickers!

I dont have any pictures of him on the ride so I am hoping the photo companies got some good ones of him along the way.

On a side note.... Jer is notorious for wild animal attacks and we did have a bear encounter in the camp site. The camp host was very specific about not leaving ANY THING out, do not leave anything in the car, use the bear box etc. We have a pop-up camper which means soft canvas sides so this made me a bit nervous. Towards the end of our trip we had not seen any evidence of bears and we had a dog in our camp so we werent too worried and we got a bit relaxed. Well, too relaxed. The boys left their bike bag in the back of our friends truck. Luckily it was just an open truck but the bear climbed up and got the bag, ripped it open and ate Jers trail mix and power bars. It was just scary that the bear was RIGHT next to the trailers!

Another great trip!
