So we tagged along for a little camping trip! It was so hot down in the valley so it was nice to get away to the Uintas where the weather was nice and cool. We had planned on camping in a campground but they were all full! We were getting pretty nervous but we just kept driving up the canyon and we came to this beautiful wildflower meadow and pulled over and picked a little spot sheltered by some trees. It was perfect! We had water in the trailer, our generator and a potty so we were set! It was way better than any pay site. We had plenty of space, a really nice fire pit and it was FREE. There were quite a few other groups but we were all secluded form each other pretty nicely so it was great.
Saturday was Jeremys ride so he left camp around 4:30 a.m. to drive down to the starting point. I just hung out with the girls. We picked wild flowers:
Played in the dirt:
and went on a little hike to the Provo River Falls:
Then we headed in to Park City. My thought was to hit the Outlet mall all day and then see Jer finish. It was so hot and it was Saturday so the outlet mall was insane. It was not fun. We lasted about 2 hours and then we headed towards the ride finish line. Abby finally fell asleep so we just hung out in the car with the A/C and let until she woke up. And then we waited..... and waited.... and waited.... ha ha ha. Finally at 7:20 p.m. Jer called and he was still about 20 miles out. He was exhausted, but he was going to make it! The girls had about enough and couldnt take much longer so we told Jer we were going to leave. I felt terrible but we still had an hour drive back to the campsite too! But we were hungry and K wanted pizza so I decided to get take out and we had a little picnic and waited.
It was actually a really cool moment. The race was basically over, and every one was packing up, so we were basically the only ones left. I just didnt have the heart to leave Jer and we really wanted to see him finish. But then I saw our friends Eric and Vanessa and they were still waiting for Jeremy too. So we had our own little cheering section for Jer and he figured we had all left him.
So about 9:00, 14 hours after he started riding, we finally see Jer coming over the hill. He was DEAD LAST....
But he finished! He did not give up and I was so glad we stayed to see him accomplish this. Way to go Honey! We love you!

170 miles - you've got to be freaking crazy. Good for him for finishing and you're the best wife ever for waiting around all day with two little ones (love the pic of them eating pizza - they're so cute) :)
I am proud of ALL of you!
Shopping didn't work and you STILL stayed for Jer!
That was an incredible accomplishment.......
WAY TO GO!
